Between The Folds depicts a cast of fine artists, intrepid mathematicians and theoretical scientists who have abandoned conventional careers and scoffed at hard-earned graduate degrees - all to forge lives as modern-day paperfolders.

As these provocative minds converge on the unlikely medium of origami, they reinterpret the world in paper, bringing forth a fascinating mix of sensibilities towards art, expressiveness, creativity and meaning. And together, they demonstrate the innumerable ways that art and science come to bear as we struggle to understand and honor the world around us - fusing science and sculpture, form and function, ancient and new.

If shortened to accomodate a Discovery Channel format, this is fascinating look into the mind and the method of mathematical genius. What suprised me was that Between The Fold is a]exactly where the genius lives. Children of countless centuries have been the entity that has kept paper folding alive, yet it is Origami masters and oddly enough MIT mathematicians that have brought this art.;science form into a creative reality for art galleries and space exploartion alike. If you think the litle duck or dragon your 6 year old is cute... think again. It is the key to unlocking the creative doors to constructing tomorrow's compact space hardware. Truly inspirational in the scope and depth of simple paper folding. Between the folds brings to light all the practical applications of this ancient art for both scientific, artistic and even holistic health endeavors. Fold yourself some relief for the every day and catch this film. Enjoy Stan the man
