Justin has been coasting through his 20s, cutting grass for gas money and living rent free with his widowed mother; but all that is about to change. When Justin’s 116-year-old great-grandfather becomes The Guinness Book of World Records’ “Oldest Living Man” and embarks on a career as a carnival sideshow attraction, Justin is introduced to an eclectic group of performers, showmen, and stagehands who make their living by hustling an endless stream of townies out of their hard earned cash. They call themselves “splinterheads.”At the carnival, Justin meets Galaxy, a sexy con artist who works the “Dunk the Punk” booth with her psycho ex-boyfriend, Reggie. When she swindles him out of fifty bucks, Justin is immediately smitten. He joins Galaxy on a few geocaching (GPS treasure hunting) excursions around town, and romance blossoms as she helps wake Justin up to the world around him.Once Reggie catches wind of the affair, he tries to sabotage them by tipping off Justin’s nemesis, a lovesick and delusional local policeman named Sergeant Bruce Mancuso, to a series of petty thefts that Justin’s new girl has committed. Sergeant Mancuso sees this as his opportunity to exact revenge on Justin for sabotaging his relationship with Justin’s mom. In love with a wayward free-spirit and caught in a struggle with a psychotic carnie and an out-of-control cop, Justin is finally forced to face a challenge he won’t be able to walk away from.
